Breast cancer is NOT one disease. This is an important fact that women need to understand. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive subtype with a poor diagnosis. There are 4 or 6 subtypes of triple-negative and each one may respond differently to therapeutic agents. Yet, oncologists treat early stage as one disease in a clinical setting because chemotherapy is the only option.

Orange is the New Pink: My Battle with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) is a heartfelt story that will make you laugh, cry, think and hopefully inspire you to make an effort to understand your risk for getting breast cancer.  The story is about Marquita’s:

  • Journey to survival which involved SHOCK, SADNESS, FEAR, LAUGHTER, VANITY, SEXUALITY, TRIUMPH, GOD, FAMILY, FRIENDS, and wonderful medical professionals.

  • The need for targeted treatments for early stage TNBC.

  • The importance of being your own advocate whether it is for prevention or treatment of breast cancer.

  • The Power of a Mother’s Love.
